Who is Redline Visuals?
Redline Visuals is the photography and videography business of Jacob Mercer, based in Savannah, Georgia. I shoot automotive, motorsport, aviation, commercial, real estate, and editorial work across Georgia, South Carolina, and nationally.
What areas do you serve?
I'm based in Savannah, Georgia and work regularly throughout Georgia and South Carolina — Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort, Okatie, Pooler, Rincon, Tybee Island, and Atlanta. I travel nationally for events, commercial productions, and aviation work.
Do you travel for shoots?
Yes. Local projects in the Savannah and Lowcountry area are straightforward. For out-of-state work, travel costs are added to the quote. I've shot in Miami, Daytona, Amelia Island, Atlanta, and across the Southeast.
How do I book a shoot?
Send an inquiry through the contact form or email jacob@redline-visuals.com with your date, location, subject, and what you need delivered. You'll receive availability and a customized quote.
How far in advance should I book?
One to two weeks is enough for most single-vehicle or portrait sessions. Events, commercial productions, multi-vehicle shoots, and anything requiring travel should be booked as far out as possible.
Is a deposit required?
Yes for events, commercial productions, and travel projects. Your date isn't reserved until the deposit and agreement are both complete.
What's your turnaround time?
Standard delivery is 5–7 business days depending on project size. Your estimated delivery date is included in your quote. Rush delivery is available for an additional fee.
Do you offer ongoing content packages?
Yes. Monthly retainers are available for dealerships, shops, and brands that need consistent content. One-off shoots are equally welcome.
Do you provide RAW or unedited files?
No. You receive a curated set of fully edited photos and video. The edit is part of the work — it's what makes the final images look the way they do.
What happens if the weather is bad?
I monitor conditions ahead of every outdoor shoot. If weather would compromise the results or safety, we relocate or reschedule at no penalty.
What kinds of vehicles do you photograph?
Everything. Exotics, supercars, classics, JDM, muscle, race builds, off-roaders, trucks, daily drivers, and motorcycles. I've shot Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, BMW, and Toyota builds among many others.
Do you shoot rolling shots?
Yes. Rolling and tracking shots are standard, captured with a chase vehicle and stabilized gimbal rig. Rolling footage is often the strongest material in an automotive package.
Can you shoot my personal car even if I'm not a business?
Absolutely. A large portion of my work is for private owners and enthusiasts who want their build documented properly.
Do you shoot car meets and Cars and Coffee events?
Yes. That's where I started, and I still shoot meets regularly across Georgia and the Carolinas.
Do you cover races and motorsport events?
Yes. I've shot the Daytona 500, rally events, and track days. Race coverage includes on-track action, pit work, and the paddock.
Do you shoot Concours events?
Yes. I've covered the Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance and the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, and I shoot Pebble Beach.
What's the best location for a car shoot?
It depends on the car. Industrial settings suit aggressive builds, coastal and open road settings suit classics and convertibles, and architectural backdrops suit exotics. I'll recommend locations based on your vehicle and the look you want.
When is the best time of day to shoot a car?
Golden hour — the hour after sunrise and before sunset — produces the most flattering light on automotive paint. Blue hour and night shoots with off-camera lighting create a more dramatic result. Midday is workable with the right location and lighting.
Can you shoot at night?
Yes. Night and low-light automotive work using professional lighting setups is a specialty, and it produces some of the most striking results.
Should I detail my car before the shoot?
Yes, strongly recommended. Photography reveals every water spot, swirl mark, and speck of dust. A freshly detailed car photographs dramatically better and reduces retouching time.
Can I be in the photos with my car?
Yes. Driver and lifestyle shots — behind the wheel, walking up to the car, interacting naturally — are optional and always add impact.
Do you photograph motorcycles?
Yes. Sportbikes, cruisers, customs, track builds, and dirt bikes. I've shot the BMW S1000RR, Yamaha R7, and a range of custom builds.
Do you shoot bikes in motion?
Yes. Rolling shots, lean-angle work, and stabilized cinematic video are all part of motorcycle coverage.
Do you shoot dirt bikes and off-road?
Yes. Off-road and dirt work is covered, including trail and track environments.
What makes motorcycle photography different from car photography?
Bikes are harder. There's less surface area to work with, the geometry is more exposed, and the rider becomes part of the composition. Lean angle, chain tension, and body position all have to be right in the same frame.
Do you photograph aircraft?
Yes. Aviation is a core part of my work — private aircraft, jets, acrobatic planes, seaplanes, and military aircraft including the F-35, F-22 Raptor, F-16, F-15, and the Blue Angels' F/A-18.
Do you shoot aircraft for sale?
Yes. I work with aircraft brokerages to document planes for listings, traveling to wherever the aircraft is located. Coverage ranges from two-seaters to passenger aircraft, jets, and seaplanes.
Can you shoot air-to-air?
Yes. Air-to-air photography from a chase aircraft is available for the right project.
Do you shoot airshows?
Yes. Airshow and demonstration team coverage is available, shot on long telephoto glass to capture aircraft at speed and altitude.
Do you photograph airports and aviation facilities?
Yes. Facility and promotional photography for airports, FBOs, and aviation businesses, including ground and aerial coverage.
Do you offer drone photography and video?
Yes. I'm FAA-licensed and fully equipped for aerial photo and video. Drone coverage is available for automotive, real estate, events, landscape, and commercial work.
Are you FAA certified?
Yes. I hold an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, which is required for commercial drone operation in the United States.
What drone do you use?
DJI Mini 5 Pro and DJI Mavic 2 Pro, selected based on the project and location constraints.
Can you fly anywhere?
No. Drone flight is restricted near airports, in controlled airspace, over certain government facilities, and in some national parks. I check airspace before every shoot and obtain authorization where required.
How high can a drone fly legally?
FAA regulations limit commercial drone flight to 400 feet above ground level in uncontrolled airspace. Higher altitudes require specific authorization.
Do you need permission to fly over private property?
Property owner permission is required for takeoff and landing, and is best practice for any flight over private land. I handle those conversations as part of the shoot planning.
Can you do aerial video of cars in motion?
Yes. Aerial tracking shots of moving vehicles are one of the most effective ways to show a car, and they're a standard part of cinematic automotive packages.
Do you shoot real estate?
Yes. Interior and exterior photography, aerial property coverage, and video walkthroughs for agents, owners, and developers.
Why does real estate photography matter for selling a property?
Listings with professional photography attract more views and generate more showings than listings shot on a phone. Photography is the first impression a buyer has of a property, and it directly affects how quickly and at what price a property sells.
What's included in a real estate shoot?
Interior photos of every significant room, exterior photos from multiple angles, and aerial coverage showing the property and surrounding area. Video walkthroughs are available as an add-on.
How should I prepare a property for photography?
Declutter every surface, remove personal items, open blinds, turn on all lights, and stage furniture. A well-prepared property can be shot in half the time and photographs far better.
Do you shoot architecture and interiors?
Yes. Architectural and interior photography for designers, builders, hospitality, and commercial spaces — shot for design and editorial purposes rather than just listings.
How long does a real estate shoot take?
Most residential properties take one to two hours on site. Larger estates and commercial properties take longer depending on square footage and the scope of coverage.
Do you work with businesses and brands?
Yes. I work with dealerships, custom shops, auto brands, detailing businesses, and rental fleets. I've shot for a Porsche dealership grand opening in South Carolina attended by executives from AutoNation and Porsche.
What is commercial photography?
Commercial photography is any imagery created for business use — advertising, marketing, websites, social media, and promotional campaigns. It's licensed for the business to use commercially, which differs from personal photography.
Do you shoot product photography?
Yes. Product and inventory photography for auto parts, accessories, and retail items, shot for e-commerce and marketing use.
Do you shoot corporate headshots?
Yes. Team headshots, individual portraits, and branding sessions, shot on location or in a controlled setup.
Do you cover corporate events?
Yes. Grand openings, launches, conferences, and brand activations. Event coverage includes the venue, the attendees, and the details that make the event worth documenting.
Can businesses use the photos for advertising?
Yes. Content can be licensed for websites, social media, paid advertising, and promotional campaigns. Tell me the intended use before booking so the correct licensing is included in your quote.
What is image licensing and why does it matter?
Licensing defines how, where, and for how long you can use an image. Social media use, website use, and paid advertising carry different licensing terms. Establishing this up front prevents problems later and ensures you have the rights you actually need.
Do you shoot video as well as photos?
Yes. Full photo and video production — static, rolling, cinematic b-roll, aerial, and lifestyle edits. One operator, one package.
What's the difference between b-roll and a full edit?
B-roll is raw supplemental footage you can use however you want. A full edit is finished, color-graded, and cut to music or narration, ready to publish.
Do you offer social media content?
Yes. Vertical-format content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts is available alongside standard horizontal deliverables.
What gear do you shoot on?
Sony A1 and Sony A7 III bodies, Sony G Master 12–24mm f/2.8, 24–70mm f/2.8, and 200–600mm G lenses, DJI Mini 5 Pro and Mavic 2 Pro drones, and a DJI RS3 Pro gimbal for stabilized motion work.
Can you handle large or complex productions?
Yes. Trackside coverage, multi-vehicle shoots, cinematic storytelling, promo reels, showroom builds, and aircraft chase work. Bring the concept and I'll handle the execution.
What is cinematic videography?
Cinematic videography treats video like film rather than documentation — controlled camera movement, deliberate composition, color grading, and pacing built around a narrative rather than just capturing what happened.
